Above the fog
Finn looks down off the finished back deck on a foggy morning. Copper post caps by sheetmetalcaps.com (highly recommended!)
Nice work down there
A shot of Jonny chiseling out the handrail pockets from above while I was in the lift.
Closer to Code
The front staircase goes in. We won’t use this much until the retaining wall and pathway are done, but to get occupancy, this was one of the last things on the checklist.
Pluggin’ Away
I really like these baluster connections vs the alternative of drilling a million holes in the handrail and deck boards. Allows for taller rail heights with the same length balusters as well. Exterior balusters are 3/4″ round black painted aluminum.
Working hard or hardly working
Milly helps Chip bolt together some deck beams, while NEVER ONCE COMPLAINING. Actually she really did enjoy it and did a great job.
Super trooper
Chip bolting together the beams on the front porch deck.
Octagon Railings
Almost finished the handrails for the whole house; these are on the octagon out back. 3 balusters per foot for 130′ of railings x 2 plugs per baluster. Wowza.
Walk the plank
Dana finishes off a row of deck boards on the back deck.
Day to night
Laying the deck boards down at all hours.
