They say if your marriage can survive a reno it’s in good shape. If it can survive building a house yourselves from scratch…I don’t know what they say, but it’s super hard. Thankful for a patient partner; my better half and the only teammate that could’ve made it all happen.
This is what it looks like when your jeans are too restrictive for the up-and-down of flooring installation, but it’s also cold in the house late one winter’s night.

Almost finished the handrails for the whole house; these are on the octagon out back. 3 balusters per foot for 130′ of railings x 2 plugs per baluster. Wowza.

A situation came about where we were able to have access to a Genie lift for a few weeks at almost no cost (they’re usually $$$ to rent). There’s no way I could have finished the high peaks, soffit and fascia without this thing. And it only almost killed me once.
Painting the living room ceiling atop of three levels of scaffolding is not for those with a fear of heights.
Mudroom lockers and built-ins are constructed. Oak bench with Agreeable Gray painted trim and woodwork.
