Range hood test fit
The range hood is sprayed and test fit around the off-centred beam. Now to take it down, clear-coat it, and install the backsplash.
Notes from the hood
Making the range hood in the basement workshop. Finally those tall ceilings downstairs are showing their usefulness!
Miss Mom
Milly learning how to make cookies. She did it all by herself and no one complained of any egg shells!
Kitchen ceiling
Another full view of the kitchen ceiling coming together.
We thought we were so close!
Kitchen ceiling at about the halfway point: painted/whitewashed tongue and groove 6″ pine between 8×10″ Douglas fir timbers.
Love your neighbour…
It’s not hard to do when they’re quality people like Daniel L. Here he is helping install the kitchen cabinets (with Chip’s help below).
Jamb Session
Dana and Grandma Old painted the door jambs and some of the initial trim. Paint colour: Sherwin Williams West Highland White
Dana managed to pull off what almost feels like a heist from the Future Shop/Best Buy changeover, saving better than 60% on a fridge, washer/dryer, and dishwasher package. Even the manager wasn’t too sure about why everything was coming up to such a low price, but we aren’t complaining. Now to store them somewhere…
